Sessa Estate is in the Darrang District and was first planted in 1897 in the alluvial soils on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. It's a very smooth strong, full-bodied tea that's rich and malty with a sweet flowery bouquet. The tea is similar in strength to the classic English Breakfast teas.
Assam Sessa Estate is the single largest tea-growing region in the world. It is a rainy tropical plain adjacent to Bangladesh and Myanmar. This was the first major cultivation of tea in India.
